The Royal Enfield Bullet has been in continuous production since 1949. In 1955 the British company established a satellite factory in Madras to help meet demand from the Indian Army. When the UK factory closed in 1967, the Indian plant continued to manufacture the Bullet models. In 1994 Enfield India Ltd was acquired by the large engineering group Eicher, which has since made a considerable investment in manufacturing equipment and techniques. Since 1999 Royal Enfield has been distributed in the UK by Watsonian Squire, the longest established sidecar manufacturer in the World.
Harking back to the ‘G2’ Bullet of the early 1950's, the Classic is an all-new machine with handling and performance that will surprise many. The popular and well proven Electra, descended from the original 1955 Bullet, gets the latest unit construction fuel-injected engine. Three variants of the Electra are produced exclusively for the UK market. The Trials EFI is inspired by the success of Royal Enfield in the ISDT during the 1950's, while the Clubman EFI is a cafe racer that will turn heads wherever it goes. New for 2010, the Woodsman EFI is a tribute to the Bullet variants produced for export to the USA in 1955-'59. There will also be a limited edition Lewis Leathers model and, of course, we can make you a sidecar outfit.
