| Wall & Sagar, Lancaster’s longest established motorcycle dealer, moved to
Morecambe and opened a massive new showroom in March 2004.
However, visitors might be surprised to find that the majority bikes on sale
in the impressive 10,000 square foot store are not predominantly Japanese,
because Wall & Sagar have become one of the UK’s biggest franchised dealers for
Royal Enfield motorcycles.

Founded in 1901, Royal Enfield motorcycles continued to be manufactured in
India after the UK factory closed in 1970. Today’s Royal Enfield motorcycles
look like a classic British motorcycle of the 1950’s or 1960’s but with all the
advantages of modern electrical systems, tyres and a full warranty. Managing
Director Tony Wall is very excited about the prospects for his new venture. |
“Motorcycling is booming at the moment, with many mature riders returning
to two wheels now that their children are grown up.” He continues “We’ve got
something for everyone in our new showrooms. Royal Enfield for riders seeking a
brand new classic, the excellent budget range of Hyosung motorcycles and Peugeot
scooters for those needing affordable transport which will cut through the jams
and can be easily parked.”
A huge range of helmets, clothing and accessories will also be on display and
a selection of demonstrator machines is available to “try before you buy”.
